Wednesday bullet post

Because the webbynet doesn't run out of interesting things to read, even when I run out of things to write...

  • Fake popup study sadly confirms most users are idiots (from Ars Technica) And yes, "idiots" is a technical term.
  • IBM threatens to leave standards bodies (from The New York Times) It looks like they've had enough of the pandering to Microsoft and OOXML.
  • McCain Loses His Head (from The Washington Post) When you're a Republican candidate for President, and George Will is saying you're "behaving like a flustered rookie playing in a league too high", things are not looking good you.
  • Awaiting Your Correspondence - Important Business Matter (from The Seminal) The bailout as a 419 scam.
  • Ancient yeast reborn in modern beer (from MSNBC) My brother should find this one interesting.
  • Albert Pujols, underappreciated superstar (from ESPN's Page 2) Jonah Keri makes a pretty good argument for Pujols as MVP. I agree, but am still more impressed with Manny. But I guess that's kind of his point.
  • 6 Brainwashing Techniques They're Using On You Right Now (from Cracked) Yes "They" are.
  • In other news, with the exception of one instrumental written over vacation I have officially not written a song (collaborations and recycling don't count) in nineteen months. But who's counting?
